Question to Parliament on the exact amounts from the resilience and cruise fees and their disposal

Seven New Democracy MPs submitted a question to Parliament requesting detailed data on the collectability and per region, from the resilience fee and the cruise fee, as well as on the planning regarding their disposal.

They also submit as a proposal the institutionalization and assignment of a specific percentage of revenue from the resilience fee to Municipalities and Regions proportionally and based on the revenue per region to finance actions and projects.

As is known, since 2024, a resilience fee has been imposed on all hotels and tourist accommodations in the country, on an annual and horizontal basis, while since the beginning of 2025 an increase in the resilience fee has been implemented.

They emphasize that, given the increase in tourist flows, a significant amount should have been collected from the resilience fee, which, based on what has been institutionalized, should be allocated to projects and actions to shield tourist destinations from extreme weather events and the negative impacts of the climate crisis. Indicatively, actions and projects to address water scarcity, flood protection, coastal erosion, etc. can be financed.

At the same time, since June 2025, a special cruise fee has been imposed on every cruise ship passenger disembarking in a Greek port that is considered a cruise destination.

This specific fee was imposed in order to finance projects to improve port infrastructure and strengthen the tourism product.

The seven New Democracy MPs address the following questions to the Ministers of National Economy and Finance, Infrastructure and Transport, Shipping and Island Policy and the Minister of Tourism:

1. What is the exact amount that has been collected in both 2024 and 2025 overall and at the prefecture level from the resilience fee?

2. Where were the specific revenues of 2024 allocated and to which actions or projects, and what is the planning for the allocation of the increased revenues of 2025.

3. Does the State intend to institutionalize and assign a specific percentage of revenues from the resilience fee to Municipalities and Regions proportionally and based on revenues per region to finance actions and projects?

4. What is the exact amount that has been collected from the cruise fee in total and per port?

5. When will the proportional revenues from the cruise fee be paid to the Municipalities and the Ministries of Shipping and Tourism?

6. What is the plan of the Ministries of Shipping and Tourism regarding the utilization of their revenues from the cruise fee? What projects and actions are they planning?
