“Airfare Fever” for Greece in Summer 2025

Enhanced flight schedules and new connections to Greece are included in the latest route changes of six international airlines for summer 2025.

In particular, Eurowings has expanded the Berlin-Corfu connection for summer 2025, with flights starting on April 26 with a frequency of once a week and continuing from May 27 onwards with 2 weekly flights. This is an expansion of the same route that operated in 2024 from September 28 to October 26.

The airline also added the new route Düsseldorf - Preveza (Aktion), starting on May 3, with a frequency of once a week, which after May 20 increases to 2 weekly flights, which will be operated with A319/320 aircraft.

The routes Graz - Heraklion are also added, for the period from May 26 to October 6, Linz - Kos for the period from May 11 to September 28 and Stockholm - Preveza from May 17 to October 4. These flights will have a frequency of once a week, with the exception of the Stockholm - Preveza connection for the period from June 17 to July 29, when the flights increase to 2 per week.

At the same time, Animawings is adding 6 new connections to Heraklion, Chania, Corfu, and Zakynthos from Romania. Specifically, it will offer three connections to Heraklion, from Brasov (from June 3 to September 30, 2025, with A320), from Cluj (from June 7 to September 27, with A220) and from Oradea (from June 3 to September 30, with A320), with one weekly flight. The connection with Cluj will resume after the summer of 2022.

New additions for this year are three more connections from Timisoara, with Chania (from June 2 to September 29), with Corfu (from June 6 to September 26), and with Zakynthos (from June 5 to September 25), which will be operated with one weekly flight and with an A320 aircraft. The connection with Zakynthos will resume after the summer of 2022.

In June, the first charters to Greece from Azerbaijan will begin on behalf of Pasha Holidays, through the state-owned carrier Azerbaijan Airlines, which will depart for Heraklion, as Tornos News exclusively revealed.

The CEO of Pasha Travel and Pasha Holidays, Mr. Bahruz Asgarov, had stated in his statements to Tornos News that Crete was chosen as an ideal destination for the first charters in Greece because it has a particularly attractive mix of characteristics that meets the demands of tourists from Azerbaijan, with history, culture, stunning beaches, incredible nightlife and gastronomy.

Azerbaijan Airlines will operate the Baku - Heraklion connection on the basis of scheduled charter flights every week, from June 7 to September 6, 2025, with an Airbus A320 aircraft, as follows...

Ukrainian carrier SkyUp Airlines is “opening” three new direct routes to Athens, Thessaloniki and Heraklion, from Chisinau, Moldova.

The connection to Athens began on May 19 and will operate throughout the year with a frequency of 2 times a week, the connection to Thessaloniki will operate from May 20 to October 25, 2025, and with Heraklion it began on April 26 with 3 weekly flights per route and from May 12 it continues with 6 weekly and from May 23 with daily flights.

Sichuan Airlines is launching a new connection from China at the end of June 2025 with the new Chengdu – Athens route, which will have a stopover in Istanbul. The flights start on June 30 and will be operated with an Airbus A330-200 aircraft, 4 times a week, as follows...

In addition, on June 3, the flights of the low-cost Norwegian airline Norse Atlantic will also start, from Los Angeles to Athens, while the frequencies of its flights from New York’s JFK airport are also increasing. Overall, Norse will offer 155% more capacity to Athens than in 2024, with a total of 49,000 one-way seats and double the weekly frequencies across these two connections.

The new 13.5-hour seasonal Athens-Los Angeles service will operate four times a week, while the seasonal JFK service, which began in May last year and ended in October, will see an additional weekly flight this year (6 versus 5 weekly in 2024). This service also extends the season at Athens Airport, starting on April 15 and ending in November, with an 82% increase in capacity compared to last year.
