A group of seven people in Xanthi make 3D-printed plastic masks in Greece

With the help of state-of-the-art technology, a lot of hard work and the use of the required materials, they have already made the first 30 masks and another 100 are on the way
The idea of a private doctor in Xanthi, cardiologist Komnenos Gambras, combined with the expertise of his friend, Anestis Papachristou, a self-taught computer engineer, led to the creation of a voluntary group of seven people to make plastic masks using a 3D printer to help medical and nursing staff at the city's hospital, ANA reports.
It takes between two to six hours to 3D-print a mask, depending on the type of printer, while 20 masks require one kilo of plastic.
