Rhodes Deputy Mayor meets with US ASTA travel agents

The aim of the meeting was to promote the tourist product of Rhodes in the United States market
RHODES, Greece – Deputy Mayor of Tourism, International Promotion and Expatriates of Rhodes Mariza Chatzilazarou met on Wednesday with 35 US travel agents who arrived on the popular island destination.
The aim of the meeting was to promote the tourist product of Rhodes in the United States market.
The travel agents were on board the cruise ship “Majesty” of Celestyal Cruises Inc on a cruise organised by the shipowning company, especially for participants in the annual regional conference of US tour operators’ ASTA Destination Expo taking place in Athens on April 14-17, 2018.
Chatzilazarou presented Rhodes as a tourist destination but also as a venue for major events, always with the help of the municipality. The island’s history, culture, natural beauty, customs, warm hospitality make this place a unique tourist destination, she stressed.
The presentation impressed the ASTA members who discussed Rhodes’ potential as a tourist destination.
The Deputy Mayor referred to the prospect of exploiting all the advantages of the island — nature, history, culture, infrastructure — but also the strategy of the port authorities with a number of essential measures for the modernisation of the tourist port of Rhodes by new technologies for the safety of the harbours and the upgrading of services.
