Skyros Sports Festival in Skyros

On June 14 and 15, the Skyros Sports Festival is scheduled to take place in Skyros, under the auspices of EAS SEGAS of Eastern Central Greece and Evia and with the institutional support of the Region of Central Greece.

As part of the event, there will be open water swimming races of 3 kilometers and 1.5 kilometers, a Night Half Marathon, a night run of 21.1 kilometers, Health Roads of 10,000 meters and 5,000 meters, a Kids Run of 1,000 meters, and an Aquathlon.

In detail, on June 14, the 3 and 1.5 kilometer swims will start at 9:00, the night half marathon at 18:30, the 10 kilometer Health Run at 19:00, the Children's Race at 19:10, and the 5 kilometer Health Run at 19:20.

The next day, on June 15, the Aquathlon, which includes a 750-meter swim and a 5-kilometer race, will start at 9:00.

The starting and finishing points of the races are in the central square of Skyros.

The 21.1 km Half Marathon Route

The 21.1 km Half Marathon is interesting, where the athletes start from the square towards the primary school, then follow the main road to the “Basale” intersection, and then follow the route towards the port.

At the curve of the road axis at the bridge at the height of the former “Happy wave” store, the athletes make a U-turn and head towards the “Basale” junction. Arriving there, they follow the coastal road towards “Magazia”. Passing the “Agia Katerina-Magazia” location, they continue straight, pass the intersection towards the airport, and then towards “Molos” and continue straight towards “Gyrismata” passing by the football field towards the “Xeropigado” intersection.

At the intersection with the coastal road at “Gyrismata”, they turn east and re-direct north at the intersection of the coastal road with the main road of Molos towards Fournos “Katsarela”. At the first intersection after the baker,y they turn left towards the nursery school, and immediately after, at the next intersection,n they turn left towards “Pouria”. Where the road ends (at Mylos), they make a U-turn towards the intersection leading to “Molos” square and the kiosk.

Then they head west towards the main road, pass the "Melikari" hotel, arrive at "Apothiki Poga", from where they turn right (north) again following the same route "Gyrismata - Pouria - Molos Square," arriving again at the "Melikari" hotel - "Apothiki Poga" where this time (second) they turn left (south) towards Chora. They arrive at the "Basale" intersection,n where they head right (west) towards the central square of Chora, where they will end following the course of the regional one-way road via the "Pantazi" hotel, "Moto Vagios".

The route of the 10,000-meter Health Road

The athletes start from the central square towards the elementary school, then follow the main road to the “Basale” intersection and then turn left towards the “Magazia” area, “Molos”, pass “Agia Katerina”, the intersection towards the airport, at the next intersection they head towards the “Melikari” hotel, where they turn left onto the main road towards “Molos”.

They continue straight on the main road, and after “Vasilopoulos” at the next intersection, they head right (east) towards the nursery school, and at the next intersection, they turn left (north) towards “Pouria”. Where the road ends (before the Mill), they make a U-turn towards the intersection and the road that leads to “Molos” square at the kiosk. They continue westwards towards the main road towards the "Melikari" hotel - "Apothiki Poga", where they turn left (south) towards Chora. They reach the "Basale" intersection where they turn right (west) towards the central square of Chora, where they will finish following the course of the regional one-way road via the "Pantazi" hotel, "Moto Vagios".

The organizers note that the days and times of the races may change in case of bad weather conditions.
