Ultra Trail Run Agrafa scheduled on April 12th and 13th

On April 12th and 13th, the Ultra Trail Run Agrafa is scheduled to take place at the Neochori Botanical Garden at Lake Plastira, co-organized by the Agrafa Cultural Mountain Running Association, among others.

Specifically, mountain runners can choose between 3 routes of 10, 23, and 42 kilometers, while children will have the opportunity to participate in the “Agrafaki” children’s race, which is 600 meters long.

The purpose of the mountain running race is to stimulate tourism, promote the unique beauty of Lake Plastira, and highlight the history and culture of the region, as runners will complete routes that run along the borders of the former Free Greek State and the then Turkish territory.

The Botanical Garden of Neochori

It is worth noting that, according to the website of the municipality of Lake Plastira, the Botanical Garden of Neochori, which is open daily to visitors, includes shrublands, ecosystems of the region, nurseries with lime and fir trees, wetlands, and aromatic and ornamental plants. In Neochori there is also an unexplored cave called "Dragon's Hole", while the location of the village allows for excellent views of the Thessalian plain and the wider area. Among other things, in Neochori, there is a Forestry and Agricultural Cooperative, and there are also campsites.
