Tourism dominates discussion between Greek and UK PMs

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Tuesday had his first official meeting with his British counterpart, Sir Keir Starmer, at Downing Street in London, ANA reports.
The two leaders reviewed bilateral relations and expressed a mutual willingness to strengthen bilateral cooperation. Mitsotakis stressed the importance that Greece attaches to Greek-British relations and noted that this meeting was a good opportunity to give new impetus to the relations between the two countries. In this context, the entire range of bilateral cooperation was discussed, while emphasis was placed on the economy, shipping, and tourism.
According to sources, Mitsotakis also raised the issue of the Parthenon Sculptures, as this is a standing Greek demand, while the discussions with the British Museum are at an advanced stage. The Greek side welcomes the fact that the British government will not stand in the way if there is an agreement with the British Museum.
