“Pâte à Brioche with the aroma of Crete” | The grand finale on May 2

A unique partnership of French gastronomy with Cretan tradition culminates in Chania, with the grand finale of the “Pâte à Brioche with the aroma of Crete” competition, on Thursday, May 2 at the Mikis Theodorakis Theater.

The competition, which is under the auspices of the French Embassy and organized by the Hellenic-French Association of Chania in collaboration with the Region of Crete and the Municipality of Chania, unites for the fourth year two cuisines with deep roots: French and Cretan.

The final will feature 14 students from culinary and pastry schools across Crete, who stood out in the first round of the competition. Each contestant is invited to present a creation based on the French brioche dough and filled exclusively with Cretan products.

The jury is made up of top chefs from Greece and France, including Jean Marie Hoffman, Dimitris Chronopoulos, Dina Nikolaou, Arnaud Larher, and Stéphane Jakic. The French Ambassador to Greece, Laurence Auer, is also participating as an honorary guest.

The two winners – one in the savory category and one in the sweet creation – will receive practical training in the kitchen of the French Embassy in Athens.
