Tax Free Service extension in prepackaged food products and alcoholic beverages
Planet, a leading provider of tax-free services, is delighted to announce that packaged food is now officially included in the tax-free service in Greece. This marks a significant milestone following the reduction of the minimum Tax-Free transaction limit from €120.00 to €50.00 in October 2016. Planet has played a crucial role in coordinating these efforts.

In our journey over the years, we extend our heartfelt thanks to our valued customers, partners, SELPE, and the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce for their unwavering support.

For your reference, Planet provides the protocol numbers that encompass food in POL 1338 from 2016:

Deputy Minister of Finance: ANYPOK0000495
General Secretary of Public Revenue: 0001374
General Directorate of Customs and E.F.K. - Tax and VAT address: 1029192
The Tax-Free service has undeniably benefitted all shops by ensuring excellent service to tourists and boosting market sales. Now, with the inclusion of packaged food under POL1338, the service can further promote our country and local products. Tax-Free purchases by non-EU tourists will serve as ambassadors, introducing Greek products to countries beyond the EU.

With years of experience and expertise, we have diligently followed Greek regulations and EU directives for VAT refunds to non-EU tourists. We have partnered with over 3,500 shops in Greece, as well as airports and border stations across Greece and Europe, to ensure immediate VAT refunds. Our commitment to this endeavor has been steadfast since the beginning.

This measure directly benefits tourists from non-EU countries and provides a significant boost to entrepreneurs and local food producers, creating additional income for both them and the state.

As we reiterate, tourism remains a cornerstone of our country's economy. Planet is committed to offering top-notch services to shops and tourists through continuous product development, improved services, and cutting-edge payment technologies. We look forward to serving you in this exciting new phase of our tax-free services in Greece.
