Costa Navarino collects two World Golf AwardsThe luxurious Greek resort of Costa Navarino collected the award for “Greece’s Best Golf Course 2015″ for its Bay Course and the Westin Resort Costa Navarino was voted “Greece’s Best Golf Hotel 2015″

Costa Navarino won two national level distinctions at the second World Golf Awards that took place on November 7th 2015 at the Conrad Algarve in Portugal.

The luxurious Greek resort collected the award for “Greece’s Best Golf Course 2015″ for its Bay Course and the Westin Resort Costa Navarino was voted “Greece’s Best Golf Hotel 2015″.

Alternative challenges

Costa Navarino describes the Bay Course as follows:  "Just a few minutes from Navarino Dunes, at the Navarino Bay development, the Bay Course offers an alternative set of challenges and choices in a quite different setting. Designed by leading American architect Robert Trent Jones Jr., it plays a little shorter than the Dunes Course at 5,760 metres from the back tees. The par 71 course places a slightly greater emphasis on strategic play and positional golf.

And continues: "The Seaside, Canyon, and Grove holes provide striking contrasts that create a dramatic and memorable golf round. The course  plays to a par of 71 from a variety of lengths designed to test the golfing skills of amateurs and pros alike. The imaginative layout offers panoramic seaside and mountain views, including several holes that play directly along the sea and two directly overlooking the historic bay of Navarino."

Excellence in golf tourism

Cyprus' Secret Valley Golf Course και Columbia Beach Resort were also rewarded at the national level.

World Golf Awards serve to celebrate and reward excellence in golf tourism, world class courses and golf destinations.

Golf tourism constitutes a vital segment in the global travel and tourism marketplace. An estimated 600 million golfer visits have taken place in 2014 to the 32,000 golf courses and resorts worldwide.

Leading golf destination

During the glamorous awards ceremony, Portugal was elected for the second consecutive year as the world's leading golf destination.
