Three conferences on Greek tourism under the auspices of the GNTO

Important conferences on the current challenges and future prospects of Greek, but also European, tourism are taking place in Athens and major European cities under the auspices of the Greek National Tourism Organization. These are the 4th Panhellenic Yachting Conference, the 2nd Annual Orancon Travel Forum, and the Tourism Open Days 2025.

The 4th Panhellenic Yachting Conference began its work today (Thursday 20/2) in Athens. Its purpose is to highlight innovation, education, and information on critical issues, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), green technologies, and future trends in the yachting industry, while a special edition is mindful breaks, the new trend that focuses on the importance of wellness in the professional world. Yachting executives, representatives of yacht charter companies, marina management and boat support services, pleasure boat owners, construction companies, brokers, representatives of public bodies, etc. will participate in its work, while through its hybrid format, professionals and friends of maritime tourism who will not be able to attend will be given the opportunity to attend it remotely. The President of the Hellenic National Tourism Organization, Angela Gerekou, will address the conference, while its work will be completed tomorrow, February 21.

The 2nd Annual Orancon Travel Forum will be held on February 28 and March 1 at a central Athenian hotel. The initiative aims to globalize the Greek tourism product and highlight innovative and unique applications across the entire spectrum of tourism activity, through dialogue, the exchange of best practice proposals, and international synergies. This year’s event will focus mainly on the impact of climate change on the European tourism industry and the uncertain future of cruises in the Mediterranean region and will be attended by high-ranking executives from public and private institutions and businesses in the tourism sector.

Finally, the Tourism Open Days (TOD) 2025 will take place throughout the year, with events in five European cities. It is an institution that aims to promote Greek destinations abroad, with detailed presentations to the international audience, B2B business meetings, and other related activities. Each of the events is structured in three parts: in the first, there is a presentation of the participating destinations, in the second, the representatives of the destinations and their tourism professionals have the opportunity for targeted B2B meetings with travel agents, tour operators, and opinion leaders, while the third concerns the official dinner that is held for all guests in order to give them the opportunity to get to know each other better. This year's TOD will start in Sofia (12/3) and will continue in Bucharest (11/4), Paris (16/9), Istanbul (2/10) and Vienna (16/10).
