The communication promotion program of the Municipality of Rethymno was approved.

The program is a tool for organizing and implementing actions that will contribute to achieving the general and specific objectives of the municipal authority. It is structured into actions that operate complementarily, are organized and implemented by the competent services of the Municipality, depending on the specific purposes they serve.

Furthermore, the program is the basis for planning actions and actions of the Municipality, for which special recommendations will follow to the municipal council and other competent bodies in order to be implemented.

Among other things, the communication promotion program:

• is in line with the regional and national communication policy
• aims at achieving objectives, which are analytically documented in each individual action, while at the same time serving the achievement of the municipality's general objectives. The program's actions will be implemented after the approval of the competent bodies
• Includes the Tourism Promotion Program

Among others, the communication program of the Municipality of Rethymno takes into account the specific weight of certain actions that mainly concern:

-The tourism promotion of the Municipality

-The addressing of social issues

-The cultural activity of the Municipality

-The awareness of the population

-The promotion of public and municipal policies

-The information of citizens and visitors on environmental action

-Informing – informing the public on issues of social, economic, and cultural development of the Municipality
