Doukas swore to serve the citizens of Athens honestly and conscientiously while asking the councillors for unity and cooperation so that the new administration could meet the needs of the citizens and repay their trust
The new mayor of Athens, Haris Doukas, was sworn into office on Thursday, alongside the members of the new municipal council, in a ceremony held at the Kypseli municipal market to symbolize the "municipality's return to neighborhoods", ANA reports.
He listed three conditions to ensure a new start for Greece's capital, among them having a clean and environmentally-friendly city, a new administrative model where each councilor will be in charge of one particular duty, and establishing a new relationship between the municipality and the citizens, ensuring that they have a say in all decisions.
