Media report: Vegan campaign on Athens Metro gets mixed reactionsAttiko Metro got heat for permitting extreme views to get publicity on a subject with “very serious social and economic implications”

Posters by a Greek vegan group that appeared in the Athens Metro during the last week caused mixed reactions by commuters, according to the following article by greekreporter.com:

The posters, part of a wider campaign by the group greekvegans.gr, depicted among others a calf with his mother, a piglet with a message “look at whom did you eat today” and a caught fish with the message “some screams are never heard.”

Commuters and others took to the social media to express their support for the campaign, while the majority showed their anger at being forced to look at troubling images and messages on the trains.

The Association of the Greek Meat Industry also issued a statement, noting that the advertising posters “target the consumption of meat and dairy products, while defaming Greek meat.”

It also blasts the Attiko Metro for permitting extreme views to get publicity on a subject with “very serious social and economic implications.”
