Digital Policy, Telecommunications and Media Minister Nikos Pappas said on Friday Greece’s economy is improving adding it is important for the new American leadership to know that.

"The country is doing better, that’s the absolute truth...We want all of you here tonight to become Greece’s ambassadors. It’s crucial for the new government of the United States to know the truth about Greece. To know our country is doing better," the minister said at a dinner in honour of the Greek-American members of the new administration in Washington.

Speaking to the attendants, he also said it is important to ensure that the views of those European countries which do not want to accept the idea that Greece is returning to growth will not prevail.
