Athens more sparkling and magical than ever this Christmas - full program of eventsA Christmas holiday in Athens will remain etched on your memory as a fantastic experience

"This Christmas, the City of Athens brings sparkle and magic" announced the Greek capital's Mayor Kostas Bakoyannis who will light up the Municipality's Christmas tree on December 10 and officially launch numerous events across the city.

As Mr. Bakoyannis points out in his Christmas Holiday Season message "You can now add your own wishes and go out looking for unique happenings, creative activities and special events in every corner of this city. Citizens of all ages, residents, and visitors, everyone is invited to become part of this great celebration in the city we live in, the city we hope... the city we love. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! Joyful smaller and bigger moments for everyone!"

Athens visitors can make the best of their spare time and the Christmas holiday by discovering what is going on in art and culture in the city. They can take their kids to Christmas theme parks and villages and enjoy inventive shows, concerts, and musical events in the streets. Later in the evening, they can dance their worries away in the rhythm of the nightlife. A Christmas holiday in Athens will remain etched on their memory as a fantastic experience.

You can see the full program of Christmas and New Year’s events in Athens here (in English) or visit christmasinathens.gr and Christmas in Athens on Facebook.
