€1.4 billion social dividend bill to be voted on in Greece by Thursday1.4 billion euros in one-off welfare handouts

A bill on the distribution of Greece's excess primary surplus in the form of a "social dividend" - or 1.4 billion euros in one-off welfare handouts - is being tabled in Parliament on Tuesday evening under a fast-track procedure, according to a parliamentary source.

The fast-track procedure involves discussion and processing through committee in Parliament on Wednesday, and discussion and voting in the plenary session on Thursday.
