Minister: 420 Greek businesses approved in online debt settlement platformOf the 420 successful applications, 314 applications are in a mature stage and have uploaded at least one file on the platform

Four-hundred and 20 Greek businesses have already been approved in the first phase of the out-of-court debt settlement scheme which companies can access through an e-platform launched last week, Economy minister Dimitri Papadimitriou said in an interview with municipal radio station "Athina 9.84" on Wednesday.

Speaking to the radio station, he noted the online platform, which can be reached through a link on the Special Secretariat for Private Debt Management website, received more than 90,000 "clicks" in its four days of operation. Of these, approximately 12,800 entered the platform and 4,300 logged in. Another 670 businesses were rejected because they didn?t meet the criteria of the law and this, he said, may show they were not well-informed about the platform.

Of the 420 successful applications, 314 applications are in a mature stage and have uploaded at least one file on the platform, he added. There are also six applications which have already been passed on to the coordinator or are being evaluated for their viability.

"Let's not forget though, we're still in August," he concluded.
